The future of our talent development - JPL x Playermaker Partnership AnnouncemenT
The Junior Premier League UK is excited to announce a new collaboration with Playermaker, which sees one of Playermaker’s most advanced products – CITYPLAY – available to JPL UK members, as part of our efforts to offer the best support for league players and coach development.
CITYPLAY, the wearable performance tracker launched by Playermaker and Manchester City in 2022, is designed to analyse a player’s physical and technical performance across training sessions and matches to accurately measure progress, provide personalised insights and help players improve their performance over time.
Through collaborating with Playermaker and encouraging the adoption of CITYPLAY across the Junior Premier League UK, we can look forward to:
Enhanced Player Development: Playermaker products are used by the best football academies in the world as well as over 50,000 grassroot players to increase player development across numerous levels. Playermaker data shows a proven record of accelerating player development by providing relevant data and personalized insights. With a seamless user experience, CITYPLAY identifies a player’s strengths and weaknesses, allowing the user to set goals, and clearly visualise their improvement in all metrics over time.
Talent ID: With in-depth performance analytics, coaches and scouts will identify emerging talent efficiently and accurately. The data offered by CITYPLAY allows for better monitoring of hard working and promising players, allowing JPL UK to provide the opportunity and resources to excel.
Leaderboards: Players will gain access to JPL UK specific leaderboards to see where their skills and performance rank in comparison to other players and ranked academies benchmarks.
Better Coaching: As part of the collaboration, we have agreed with Playermaker that our coaches will encourage at least 5 of their players to adopt CITYPLAY. These coaches will also have access to Playermaker Insights, a coach dashboard that provides in-depth full team monitoring. Playermaker, together with Manchester City experts will also provide coach educational sessions.
Exclusive Opportunities: Top performing players using CITYPLAY will be invited to exclusive events to compete and train at the highest level. Participation in these events gives players a chance to showcase their skills on a bigger stage and experience professional-level competition, preparing them for their future careers!
