PGA Peer to Peer Spring Event 2025: A Celebration of Elite Girls FootbalL
On Saturday 5 April 2025, Warwick University played host to the Pro:Direct JPL Peer to Peer Spring Event 2025, a standout occasion in the girls football calendar. The event brought together twenty of the country’s top U14 and U16 girls teams for a full day of high-quality competition, elite performances, and shared passion for the game.
With all matches taking place at a single venue, the tournament provided a unique environment for teams to challenge themselves against some of the best opposition in the country. From the first whistle to the final, every match reflected the growing strength and depth of the girls game across the JPL pathway.

Manchester United Crowned U16 Champions
Manchester United U16s continued their exceptional season by claiming the Pro:Direct JPL Peer to Peer Spring U16 title.
Their campaign was built on discipline, consistency, and a strong team ethic. After finishing top of their group, United progressed through the knockout stages with a 1-0 win over Bristol City in the semi-finals. In a closely fought final, they edged out Liverpool with another 1-0 victory, secured by a header in the final moments of the match.
This result means Manchester United have now won both Peer to Peer events in the 2024–25 season, having lifted the pre-season title earlier in the year. Their back-to-back triumph is a testament to the squad’s ability to maintain high standards across the season.
Congratulations also go to Liverpool U16s for reaching the final and performing strongly throughout the competition.

Brighton & Hove Albion Triumph in the U14 Competition
Brighton & Hove Albion U14s delivered an outstanding unbeaten run to lift the Pro:Direct JPL Peer to Peer Spring U14 title.
They began the day with a 4-2 win over Chelsea and followed up with a goalless draw against West Ham, before securing victories over Leicester City, Sheffield United, and Aston Villa in the semi-finals. In the final, they defeated Durham Women 2-0 to seal the trophy.
Brighton finished second in the group stage but rose to the occasion when it mattered most, combining technical quality with composure and belief. Their performance throughout the day was a clear reflection of the work being done within the squad and across the club.
A special mention must go to Durham Women, who reached the final with a strong run of their own and left a lasting impression with their style of play.

A Showcase of the Best in Girls Football
The Peer to Peer Spring Event has once again demonstrated the strength, potential, and competitiveness within the Pro:Direct JPL Girls Academy programme. With twenty top teams, one venue, and a schedule packed with competitive fixtures, the event captured what makes the girls game so exciting to watch and so rewarding to be a part of.
Thank you to all teams, players, coaches, and families who made the journey to Warwick University and contributed to an exceptional day of football. Your commitment to development, excellence, and sportsmanship is what drives events like these forward.
We look forward to building on this success and welcoming everyone back for the next chapter in the journey of girls football.
